HOW TO USE THE SERVICE

SIGNING UP

When you come to the service, you will see the front page of the service. Click “Login” on the top right corner and a pop-up window appears where you can log in, or click the “Sign up” button at the bottom to start the sign up process.

When you come to the service, you will see the front page of the service. Click “Login” on the top right corner and a pop-up window appears where you can log in, or click the “Sign up” button at the bottom to start the sign up process.

  • Name: the name others will see in the service. In addition to this name, your full name will be stored when you request or accept your first ride and perform a bank authentication.
  • Password: at least 8 characters.
  • Email: the email address you will use to receive messages from the service and other users. In addition to this email address, you can later provide your work email address.
  • Home address: when you start writing your home address, you will see suggested alternatives appear below as a pull-down menu. You can continue writing until the right alternative appears, or select the suggested street and click the address field again to add also the street number, and then again select the suggested full address. If your address is not suggested despite this, Google Maps does not recognize it and you should enter the closest one that you can find. You will be able to explain this to the ride sharing partners later when discussing the details of your planned ride.
  • Offer rides: select this if you could sometimes offer rides to others, or could transport their items. If you then on the next page enter work address and schedule, or another ride sharing address, the route between your home and that place will be visible to other users and they can ask to share a ride with you on that route on a certain date.
  • Request rides: select this if you could sometimes share a ride as a passenger, or could ask someone to transport an item for you. If you then on the next page enter work address and schedule, or another ride sharing address, the route between your home and that place may in a future version of the service be visible to other users and they can propose to give a ride to you on that route on a certain date.
  • I agree on terms: select this to confirm that you agree on the Terms of Service. This is mandatory in order to sign up and use the service.

On the second sign-up page, you can enter the following information:

  • Phone number: your phone number, so that other users can reach you when you propose a ride to them or accept their ride. We do not show your phone number to other users.
  • Work email: the email address that we can use to determine that you will belong to a user group that uses a specific domain, typically a company or other employer.
  • Work address: enter and select in the same way as you did with the home address. If you enter the work address and schedule, we can show the route between your home and work addresses to other users so that they can find you and propose to share a ride.
  • Work schedule: you can select typical work hours: 8-16, 9-17 or flexible if the work day can vary between 7-17. You can also select “Other” and enter the hours for each weekday in the user profile. In these cases, when other users click your work route on the map, they will see when you need to be at your workplace and when you leave there, and they can easily see if those times suit their own schedule. Or you can select “Picture” and upload a picture of your work shifts if they vary so much that it would be too much effort to enter them in the service. In this case, when other users click your work route, they can open the picture and request rides on days that suit their own schedule.
  • Other rideshare destination: enter and select another address where you could share a trip at some point, in the same way as you did with the home address. This could be, for example, a grocery store or a shopping mall, your weekly hobby or sports location, the city center, or a bus stop or train station from where you can continue with other means. When you enter an address, a new field appears where you can tell e.g. how and when you go there. This text is shown to other users when they click your route, so you can also tell any other criteria that you consider important.
  • Select group: you can select a group that you are a member of.
  • Car registration number: you can enter this so that your passengers can identify your car when you pick them up, or to identify your right to a parking space if your group wants to reserve them for its ride sharing members.
  • I am in corona risk group: if you select this, users who request a ride from you or receive a ride request from you will see that you are in a corona risk group. If they are also, it is safer for you two to share rides because you both are careful about social contacts. If they are not, then they know that they should probably not ask to share the ride with you, or if they do then you may reject their request.
  • Also deliveries ok: if you select this, users who would like help with e.g. a grocery bag or a postal package can also ask if you could bring it to them.

When you press the “Sign-up” button, you will be requested to fill in any mandatory information that you forgot to provide. If everything is ok, you will receive a confirmation email to the email address that you provided. When you click the confirmation link in the email, your account will be created and you can then sign in to the service.

OFFER A RIDE

If you have entered your work address and schedule, or another rideshare destination, and selected the offer ride option during registration, offers for your work trips and the other registered trip are automatically visible in the service. After this, the process goes as follows:

  • Another user sees your route on the map and clicks it open to see your name and corona risk group information, your group, and your work schedule or description of how and when you go to another rideshare destination. They can then decide if they should ask for a ride with you. In this case, they open a calendar from where they can select one or more dates on which they propose a ride with you.
  • You will receive a notification that you can open from the bell icon on the top right. You will see the passenger’s name, phone number, corona risk group information, group, and the date or dates for which he made the request, as well as your work hours on that date. You can then call the passenger to agree on any other details that you need in order to accept or decline the request..
  • You can then press the accept or decline button. If you decline, the passenger will receive a message that you have declined the ride request. If you accept, you will see the details of the agreed ride, and it is added to your pending rides.
  • The ride request is also shown in your messages, where you can send messages to the other user. Please note that they may not visit the service very often to see your message, so it is better to call them. If you receive many unwanted ride requests or messages from the same user, you can also block further messages from them. You can also unblock the user.

REQUEST A RIDE

You can request a ride without providing your work address or another rideshare destination, by looking at routes from other users on the map and selecting a route (clicking its end point location marker) to see its details. The process goes as follows:

  • When you click the market, a pop-up opens that shows the driver’s name, corona risk group information, group, and work schedule or description of how and when he goes to another rideshare destination. You can then decide if you should ask for a ride with the driver. Please remember that the route and schedule may be a bit different from what is shown in the service on the date you selected or overall, and some drivers may be willing to do even a significant detour to help you with the ride. Therefore, it is usually a good idea to ask!
  • Click the “Open calendar” link in the pop-up to see the month, select one or more dates on which you propose a ride with the driver and press the “Confirm” button.
  • The driver will receive a notification and see your name, phone number, corona risk group information, group, and the date or dates for which you made the request. He can then call you to agree on any other details that he needs in order to accept or decline the request..
  • If the driver declines, you will receive a message that he has declined the ride request. If the driver accepts, you will receive a notification and the ride is added to your pending rides.
  • The accepted ride request is also shown in your messages, where you can send messages to the other user. Please note that they may not visit the service very often to see your message, so it is better to call them. If you receive many unwanted ride requests or messages from the same user, you can also block further messages from them. You can also unblock the user.
